Clara Maria Fiorentini is the face behind this popular Irish teaching website. 'Little Miss Teacher' first began in 2014 as a blogging space, documenting teaching experiences and playful practice in the primary classroom. In recent years it has developed into a space to share knowledge, ideas, resources and inspiration for all things literacy, literature, language and play.
Clara is a lecturer in Initial Teacher Education (English Methods / Literacy) and Early Childhood Education (Early Literacies and Play Based Learning). Prior to this, Clara taught for eleven years in an urban, DEIS primary school in Co. Dublin, Ireland. Clara provides CPD for primary teachers and early childhood professionals in the areas of literacy, children's literature, play based learning and school transitions.
Clara holds a Masters in Children’s Literature and is currently undertaking PhD research in early literacy development and transitions to formal literacy learning. Clara is also an executive committee member of the Literacy Association of Ireland and is co-author of Ireland’s first multi-sensory phonics programme, Sounds Like Phonics (CJ Fallon, 2019).

Clara runs the popular educational YouTube channel 'The Literacy Channel' in partnership with her colleague, Dr. Jennifer O'Sullivan.
